Longtime CHICAGO polka show host KEITH STRAS is retiring from his SUNDAY morning "POLKA SESSIONS" show on ALLIANCE COMMUNICATIONS brokered Ethnic WPNA-A/CHICAGO after 19 years, reports the ELGIN COURIER-NEWS. STRAS, however, will continue to host polka shows for SIRIUSXM RADIO and the online POLKA JAMMER NETWORK and will continue as announcer on RFD-TV's "JIMMY STURR SHOW."
"I'm going to miss people saying they enjoyed the show," STRAS told the COURIER-NEWS' MIKE DANAHEY. "It's been a great run. I've met so many great people, and polka has given me opportunities others just dream of."
STRAS has been in the polka business since high school and started as co-host of a brokered-time show on WONX-A/EVANSTON, IL, and later co-hosted a show brokered on WTAQ-A and, later, on several other stations, including WPNA. He also produced and hosted polka-themed shows for ETHNIC TELEVISION CHANNEL (ETC) and also heads K&C ENTERTAINMENT with wife CAMILLE.
