Momentum Broadcasting/Visalia Raises Thousands for Staffer

MOMENTUM BROADCASTING/VISALIA, CA conducted an all-day Request-A-Thon THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27th, where listeners could make a $10 donation and get the song of their choice played on any of the group's four VISALIA radio stations -- Country KJUG, Top 40 KCRZ (HiTZ 104.9), Classic Rock KIOO, or Top 40 Adult KVMI (MY97.5).

Listeners had fun with it, too, calling to request BOSTON for the Country station, JOURNEY on the Top 40, SINATRA on the Classic Rocker ... well, you get the idea. All of this wacky fun was to generate some serious fundraising for the cluster's web designer, MARIO CHACON, who is now in his third year battling colon cancer and receiving costly radical new treatments. Over $10,000 was raised during the one-day event.

MOMENTUM is planning its second fundraiser, a screening of the original GHOSTBUSTERS, one of MARIO’s favorite movies, at a local theater on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18th at 7p (PT).
