NPR News Plans Special Coverage For Election Night

NPR NEWS will offer special coverage of the election on TUESDAY night (11/8) both on the air and via digital assets.
The broadcast coverage will be hosted by ROBERT SIEGEL, AUDIE CORNISH, RACHEL MARTIN, and ARI SHAPIRO 8p-2a (ET), and SCOTT SHAFER and RAY SUAREZ will take over for 2-4a (ET) from affiliate KQED/SAN FRANCISCO. Then, at 4a (ET), KORVA COLEMAN will host a one-hour recap and analysis running into "MORNING EDITION" at 5a.
Digital coverage will include NPR.org's interactive election site including a special breaking news blog with analysis from NPR reporters, a live-updating election results map, and historical results from previous elections. The site will also be updating with Senate, House and gubernatorial race results. On Facebook, the network will feature a mural of the electoral map updated by an artist as the results come in, accompanied by election news and commentary. The NPR ONE app will also offer live election coverage and updated election news as well as its usual assortment of stories and podcasts.
The NPR Politics team will be providing updates and analysis to all of NPR's assets, with National Political Correspondent MARA LIASSON, NPR POLITICS podcast host SAM SANDERS, Lead Political Editor DOMENICO MONTANARO, Senior WASHINGTON Editor and Correspondent RON ELVING, and Congressional Correspondent SUSAN DAVIS on hand, NPR WHITE HOUSE Correspondent SCOTT HORSLEY and Demographics Reporter ASMA KHALID providing exit poll analysis, and PAM FESSLER monitoring voting irregularities along with affiliate correspondents. TAMARA KEITH will be at CLINTON-KAINE headquarters, and SARAH MCCAMMON will cover the TRUMP-PENCE event.
