WHBC/Canton, OH 'McKinley-Massillon Food Fight' Helps The Hungry

ALPHA MEDIA Hot AC WHBC (MIX 94.1)/CANTON, OH sponsored its fifth annual "MCKINLEY-MASSILLON FOOD FIGHT" back in OCTOBER to collect donations for the STARK COUNTY HUNGER TASK FORCE.   

Local schools participated in the competition to bring in the most donations, collecting 31,516 pounds of food in groceries and monetary donations with the MCKINLEY BULLDOGS being crowned victorious. 

Every dollar donated provides seven pounds of food for the hungry. To date, the event has brought in a total of 116,000 pounds to the benefit area residents in need.

According to ALPHA MEDIA Market Mgr. LARRY GAWTHROP, “We are very proud of our role in this historic high school football rivalry. The food fight has continued to grow and has become the charitable component for this community battle.”
