WARNER WOLF told listeners of CUMULUS News-Talk WABC-A/NEW YORK and WESTWOOD ONE's "IMUS IN THE MORNING" TODAY (11/4) that he is leaving the show. WOLF, the longtime sportscaster, has been at WABC since 2006 and on DON IMUS' show since it moved to the station at the end of 2007.
WOLF will be replaced on IMUS' show by a familiar voice, SID ROSENBERG, who will continue to also co-host middays on WABC with IMUS executive producer BERNARD MCGUIRK. ROSENBERG has been an IMUS sports anchor before (2001-2005).
Late FRIDAY, WOLF told the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS that he did not leave the show voluntarily, saying that regarding the reason for his exit, "you'd have to ask IMUS that question." He said he will be staying on with WABC until his contract expires on DECEMBER 3rd and added, "Four weeks from now, I don’t know what I’m going to be doing — but I would absolutely be happy to continue covering sports elsewhere."
