ROGERS AC CHFI/TORONTO morning host ERIN DAVIS has announced that she will leave the show after almost 28 years in radio with a live broadcast on DECEMBER 15th.
DAVIS made the announcement on TODAY's show (11/9) on the air and via Facebook Live, with husband ROB WHITEHEAD seated behind her in the studio; she said she will remain with CHFI in a capacity yet to be determined, but is relocating to BRITISH COLUMBIA to be closer to family, while dealing with reluctantly moving away from 2-year-old grandson COLIN and hs father PHIL SHIRAKAWA (DAVIS and WHITEHEAD's daughter, CFRA-A/OTTAWA news anchor LAUREN DAVIS, passed away last year at 24). "This is hard to tell you," DAVIS said, disclosing while choking back tears that she would be leaving and thankling the audience and her co-workers. "This isn't goodbye, it's just a change of address."
DAVIS joined CHFI in 1988, working alongside DON DAYNARD, then, after brief stints hosting on cable's W network and CHEZ, with MIKE COOPER, who retired earlier this year, and, since then, DARREN B. LAMB.
