WWNO/New Orleans GM Paul Maassen To Also Manage WRKF/Baton Rouge

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ORLEANS noncommercial Variety WWNO/NEW ORLEANS GM PAUL MAASSEN will add duties as Pres./GM of PUBLIC RADIO INC. News-Talk WRKF/BATON ROUGE as well, reports the BATON ROUGE ADVOCATE. 

He will split his time between the stations in a management-sharing agreement; WRKF is also exploring a move to the LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY campus, with a deal for that move possibly coming by the end of the year.

WRKF Board Chair RODNEY BRAXTON told the ADVOCATE that the MAASSEN arrangement "will open up a lot of opportunities for us, and quite frankly, not only are we getting someone who's experienced in this area, but it's a cost saving for us, too. So it's the best of both worlds."
