The MUSIC BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (MUSIC BIZ) and U.K. site MUSIC ALLY are joining forces to host the first annual NY:LON CONNECT conference, JANUARY 24th-25th in the LONDON offices of leading law firm and event sponsor REED SMITH. It will alternate annually between LONDON and NEW YORK CITY, providing a place for senior music executives from around the world to gather and plan for the year ahead while facing down some of the biggest strategic challenges facing the industry.
This year’s program will feature a mixture of panel sessions, interviews, and presentations addressing four key areas: the maturing streaming economy, the future of rights ownership, the innovation landscape (featuring a music-startup pitch session and the publication of an exclusive music-startup report from MUSIC ALLY), and internationalization (featuring sessions on emerging markets and markets in transition).
Some of the scheduled speakers include UMG SVP Digital Strategy & Business Development JONATHAN DWORKIN, SME UK VP Digital DOROTHY HUI, MERLIN CEO CHARLES CALDAS, UMG Global Head Of New Business OLIVIER ROBERT MURPHY, PANDORA VP Global Content Licensing ELIZABETH MOODY, DOWNTOWN MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP VP Technology JOE CONYERS III, MUSIC ALLY CEO/Co-Founder PAUL BRINDLEY and MUSIC BIZ VP Digital Strategy & Business Development BILL WILSON.
