The 28th Annual NATIONAL RADIO HALL OF FAME held its induction ceremony for the class of 2016. The 2016 inductees are GEORGE G. BEASLEY, DELILAH, THE JEFF & JER SHOWGRAM (JEFF DETROW, JERRY CESAK, TOMMY SABLAN), ERIC & KATHY (ERIC FERGUSON and KATHY HART), STEVE HARVEY, BOB KINGSLEY, KIDD KRADDICK, TONY ROBERTS, NEIL ROGERS and MICHAEL SAVAGE.
There were highlights aplenty, not the least of which was the induction of the first on-air producer to be inducted -- TOMMY SABLAN, who has been a critical element in the success of the JEFF & JER SHOWGRAM.
BOB KINGSLEY received congratulatory video messages from GARTH BROOKS and KEITH URBAN, the latter who said, “I feel like part of your family. You make everybody feel like family ... thank you for everything you’ve done for me.”
DELILAH's acceptance speech was must with tears and laughter when she said things such as, "Radio has been my passion for as long as I can remember.”
Other highlights included KIDD KRADDICK’s daughter CAROLINE accepting on his behalf, CAROLINE BEASLEY accepting on her father’s behalf, TONY ROBERTS delivering his acceptance speech in true play-by-play style and ERIC and KATHY closing the evening with many jokes about the ceremony running long.
