Wally Brine Announces Retirement From WROR/Boston

Longtime BEASLEY Classic Hits WROR/BOSTON morning "LOREN AND WALLY" co-host WALLY BRINE has announced that he will retire from the station, with his last show to be on DECEMBER 16th. BRINE and LOREN OWENS have been teamed on the show for 35 years.
On the show TODAY (11/22), BRINE, on his "Wallyology" segment, discussed researching retirement on the Internet and finding an article called "The Extraordinary Happiness of Retirees," touting the benefits of leaving the workforce; he then said that in the service of researching the issue, "I am going to do it and I am going to check out retirement and see if it's good."
BRINE, son of PROVIDENCE radio legend SALTY BRINE, began his career at WPRO-F/PROVIDENCE and worked at WGAN-A, WLOB, and WJBQ/PORTLAND, ME; he joined WVBF/BOSTON in 1981 for afternoons and was moved to mornings with OWENS in 1982.
