CHICAGO PUBLIC RADIO noncommercial WBEZ/CHICAGO's new lineup drops, as previously announced, the station's longtime nightly jazz programming, but retains music programming on weekends, according to the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES' ROBERT FEDER.
Effective JANUARY 8, the evening jazz programming will be replaced by repeats of the same day's "EIGHT FORTY EIGHT," "WORLDVIEW," "and "FRESH AIR," with the overnight jazz show replaced by "GLOBAL OVERNIGHT," English-language programming from overseas. Weekends will retain several existing music shows, while simulcast WBEQ/MORRIS and WBEW/CHESTERTON, IN will go with News and Talk programming full-time in SPRING after an online-only launch in FEBRUARY.
