RICHARD "ONION" HORTON, a controversial talk show host on ST. LOUIS radio for several years, died THANKSGIVING day (11/24) after a battle with Alzheimer's disease in ST. LOUIS at 80.
HORTON, who worked for the Postal Service for 15 years after serving in the Air Force, wrote a sports column for the ST. LOUIS AMERICAN before launching his radio career at KMOX-A/ST. LOUIS in the '70s. He later worked for KKSS and then, for a decade, at WGNU-A; after leaving that station, he worked brief stints at KATZ-A, KKWK-A, WINU-A, and WESL-A/WFFX-A and did an online show.
