Texas FM Sold; CRTC OKs New Ethnic Stations For Vancouver Market

ROY E. HENDERSON is selling Country KROY (TEXAS MIX 105.3)/PALACIOS, TX to BENJAMIN B. AMATO 's NEW WAVO II, LLC for $550,000. 

In other filings with the FCC, ARUBA CAPITAL HOLDINGS, LLC is assigning Classic Rock WXEX-A and W246BP/EXETER, NH and WXEX-F/SANFORD, ME to PORT BROADCASTING, LLC in exchange for a 26.9% interest in the assignee.  The transfer also increases ARUBA principal ANDREW HARTMANN's combined interest in PORT to 56%; PORT, which also owns Adult Standards WNBP-A and W291CC/NEWBURYPORT, MA and WWSF-A and W272CG/SANFORD, ME, operates WXEX under an LMA.

And RANDY M. HUDSON has closed on the sale of K279BZ/RIFLE, CO to COLORADO WEST BROADCASTING, INC. for $3,000.   The buyer plans to rebroadcast Country KMTS/GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO on the translator.

In a deal yet to appear in the FCC database, RED ROCK RADIO CORP. is selling Classic Rock KBAJ (simulcast of KQDS/DULUTH)/DEER RIVER, MN to LAMKE BROADCASTING, INC. for an undisclosed price.  KALIL & CO., INC. served the exclusive broker for the transaction.

AMERICAN FM ASSOCIATES has received a grant of its application to move W276DE/BALTIMORE (formerly W232CL/ROXANA, DE) into BALTIMORE as a fill-in for Religion WRBS-A, specifying a new channel -- actually, the old channel, 94.3 FM -- in order to avoid interference to EMPIRE BROADCASTING SYSTEM, INC. Triple A WRNR/GRASONVILLE-ANNAPOLIS-BALTIMORE, which successfully objected to the shift to 103.1 FM and got the Commission to rescind a previous grant.

In CANADA, the CRTC has made its decision on new Ethnic commercial stations in the VANCOUVER market, granting applications by SHER-E-PUNJAB RADIO BROADCASTING INC. for a new AM with 10,000 watts fulltime on 600 AM in VANCOUVER, an application by AKASH BROADCASTING INC. for a new FM on 91.5 in SURREY, and a new rebroadcasting transmitter on 89.1 FM in SURREY for SOUTH ASIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION INC. South Asian CKYE/VANCOUVER to relieve interference on its primary channel from the HD RADIO sideband noise from first-adjacent channel SAGA Classic Rock KISM/BELLINGHAM, WA.  The new assignments will require ROBSON SQUARE 4600 SERVICES LTD. Travelers Information CFVT/NORTH VANCOUVER, CITY OF NEW WESTMINSTER public emergency services station CHNW/NEW WESTMINSTER, and low power VF2688 and VF 2686/SURREY to cease operations or find another channel (except VF2686, which was operating without a license and must shut down).

And the CRTC also approved 9015-2018 QUÉBEC INC. (RADIO MOYEN-ORIENT)'s application to move the transmitter of Arabic CHOU-A/MONTREAL's FM repeater at 104.5 FM in the MONTRÉAL borough of SAINT-LÉONARD, QC 500 meters and decrease power from 50 to 49 watts, increasing the effective height above average terrain from 22.3 to 60.3 meters.
