Sergeant Santa Returns To Detroit, Courtesy Of WWJ-A And Detroit Police

CBS RADIO News WWJ-A/DETROIT and the DETROIT POLICE DEPARTMENT are once again collecting toys for needy children in the "SERGEANT SANTA" campaign, with lead sponsorship by COMCAST's XFINITY.
The station and the DPD will collect toys at all DETROIT police precincts and at XFINITY stores in DETROIT, TROY, and PLYMOUTH through DECEMBER 12th. On DECEMBER 15th, "Chief Kringle CRAIG" (a/k/a Police Chief JAMES CRAIG), WWJ midday anchor "Jingle JACKIE PAIGE," and the WWJ "special unit" will deliver the toys.
“WWJ is very happy to continue our partnership with the DETROIT POLICE DEPARTMENT for Sergeant Santa,” said SVP/Market Manager DEBBIE KENYON. “WWJ looks forward to helping bring holiday cheer to DETROIT children each year.”
“Our technicians visit customers’ homes every day in DETROIT and all around Southeast MICHIGAN and see the need for a helping hand,” said COMCAST MICHIGAN SVP TIM COLLINS. “Partnering with WWJ NEWSRADIO 950 and the DETROIT POLICE DEPARTMENT is a great fit for us because the Sergeant Santa program allows us to give DETROIT families in need a brighter holiday season.”
Also sponsoring the collection efforts are FAYGO, the DETROIT OPERA HOUSE, and DOLL HOSPITAL & TOY SOLDIER SHOP.
