For years, radio has had fun when the NORTH AMERICAN AEROSPACE DEFENSE COMMAND (NORAD) -- celebrating the 61st anniversary of covering SANTA CLAUS -- tracks his annual trek around the globe.
The NORAD TRACKS SANTA website will launch THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1st and features a holiday countdown, games, activities, and more -- all of which will be made available in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Chinese.
Starting at 2:01a (ET) on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 24th, visitors to the website can watch SANTA prepare for flight followed by NORAD's "SANTA Cams" streaming videos of SANTA making his way over various locations. At 6a (ET) that MORNING (12/24), trackers worldwide can speak with a live phone operator to inquire as to SANTA's whereabouts by calling the toll-free hotline at (877) HI-NORAD, or (877) 446-6723.
Tech savvy trackers can also send an email to NORAD here, press the ONSTAR button in their vehicles to locate SANTA, or use a WINDOWS phone to ask CORTANA for SANTA's location.
