The AM side of COLONIAL MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Sports WFAY-A-W261CX (100.1FM ESPN FAYETTEVILLE)/FAYETTEVILLE, NC has returned to the air after two months' silence caused by flooding of the station's transmitter from Hurricane Matthew.
Chairman/CEO JEFF ANDRULONIS said, “There was four-and-a-half feet of water inside our transmitter building and the equipment was completed flooded due to the storm. I ordered a replacement transmitter right after the storm and it took until now for the replacement to come back from the factory. We’re so pleased that AM 1230 is able to rejoin the team of 100.1 FM and ESPNFayetteville.com. I’m frankly surprised at how many people still listen to the AM station even after we added FM coverage on 100.1 FM back in MARCH 2016.”
