ENVISION NETWORKS' "THE CORE With MELTDOWN" is celebrating the end of 2016 with a free two-hour special that looks back 20 years at the top 50 rock songs of 1996!
Said THE CORE producer STEVE BLACK: “Twenty years ago we carried pagers instead of cell phones, the Internet only existed if you had AOL or PRODIGY and eBAY became the world’s largest garage sale. But the music was fantastic from metal bands like PANTERA to the pop music of the GOO GOO DOLLS to the musician’s favorites like KING’S X and SCREAMING TREES and to the must-have songs of PEARL JAM, 1996’s sound was exceptional.”
THE CORE’s panel of music experts calculated the amount of songs released in 1996 and blended the numbers with opinions to create the Top 50 songs of 1996. Highlighted will be the Top 10 songs along with notable rankings throughout the two-hour end-of-year special. The list will also include songs from ALICE IN CHAIN’s "Unplugged," SOUNDGARDEN’s "Down On The Up Side," and METALLICA’s "Load" and music from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, TOOL, SUBLIME, STABBING WESTWARD and TONIC. ,THE CORE’s Top 50 Songs Of 1996 is available for broadcast beginning FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23rd.
