The distinctive voice of BILL KURTIS, longtime CHICAGO news anchor, television documentarian and narrator, and NPR "WAIT WAIT... DON'T TELL ME" announcer, will be heard on TRIBUNE MEDIA News-Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO beginning in JANUARY as the station's signature voice. KURTIS, who also narrated WILL FERRELL's "ANCHORMAN" movies, will be heard on WGN’s promos and IDs.
“BILL is perfect for WGN Radio,” said WGN Creative Service Manager CHRIS DUFFY. “His body of work represents thoughtful honesty, yet he has never been afraid to do lighthearted and fun projects. That combination plus his impeccable CHICAGO credibility make him a natural fit as a signature voice for WGN. BILL KURTIS IS… kind of a big deal.”
Vice President of Programming and Content TODD MANLEY said, “[CHRIS] DUFFY’s brilliant imaging is the sonic soul of WGN Radio and adding BILL’s voice is the icing on the cake.”
