The 48th NAACP Image Awards Announce Nominations

The 48th NAACP IMAGE AWARDS will held at the PASADENA CIVIC AUDITORIUM in PASADENA, CA. The nominees have been announced with ABC and HBO leading in the television categories with 23 and 14 respectively.
In the recording category, COLUMBIA RECORDS leads with 16 nominations, followed by RCA RECORDS with 10, and ATLANTIC RECORDS with four.
The motion pictures categories are led by WALT DISNEY STUDIOS with nine nominations, followed by FOCUS FEATURES with seven, while A24 and FOX SEARCHLIGHT PICTURES each received six.
BEYONCÉ leads the individual pack with seven nominations, followed by her sister SOLANGE KNOWLES with five. Additionally, CHANCE THE RAPPER and KENDRICK LAMAR received four nominations, while DONALD GLOVER (CHILDISH GAMBINO) and NATE PARKER both received nominations for three awards.
Winners will be announced during the two-hour event hosted by ANTHONY ANDERSON. It will broadcast live on TV ONE on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11th, 2017; 9p (ET)/8p (C). A 90-minute pre-show will air live from the red carpet at 7:30p (ET)/6:30p (C).

The NAACP IMAGE AWARDS celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature, and film. It also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.
