SiriusXM Announces 'Future Five' Artists, Celebrates 'Class Of 2016'

SIRIUSXM has announced the artists comprising the satellite service's "Class of 2016" and "Future Five" for 2017. The former lists artists played first on SIRIUSXM who broke big in 2016, and the latter offers a prediction of next year's top five breakthrough artists. "2016 was another groundbreaking year in music discovery for SIRIUSXM," said SVP/GM, Music Programming STEVE BLATTER. "Our industry leading success in breaking new artists and consistently delivering to our subscribers what's next in music demonstrates the power of human curation in identifying, developing and presenting new artists to music fans across NORTH AMERICA."
The "Future Five" includes Country artist SETH ENNIS, featured on SIRIUSXM's "THE HIGHWAY;" CARLY PEARCE, who also debuted on "THE HIGHWAY;" K. FLAY, an "Advanced Placement" artist on Alternative ALT NATION; LIL UZI VERT, played on EMINEM's SHADE 45; and RAG N BONE MAN, whose "Human" has reached the top spot on Triple A THE SPECTRUM's "Short List."
The "Class of 2016" includes COLUMBIA NASHVILLE Country artist MAREN MORRIS, who debuted on "THE HIGHWAY" and was also a 2015 "Future Five" artist; BISHOP BRIGGS, whose "River" became a hit on Alternative radio; THE CHAINSMOKERS, who host an EDM show for SIRIUSXM and YOUTUBE and have hit big on Top 40 radio; DAYA, whose "Hideaway" debuted on Top 40/Rhythmic VENUS and who provided the vocals for THE CHAINSMOKERS' pop hit "Don't Let Me Down"; KALEO, breaking out on THE SPECTRUM and then in both Triple A and Alternative with the hit "Way Down We Go"; TORY LANEZ, one of last year's "Future Five" on Top 40 THE HEAT; NOTHING BUT THIEVES, another "Future Five" graduate and a hit at Alternative with "Trip Switch"; and BEN RECTOR, who got airplay on Hot AC THE PULSE when unsigned and subsequently signed with CAPITOL and had a hit with "Brand New."
