Commercial radio and TV stations in the UK will be permitted to sell sponsorships of their entire channels under new guidelines announced by broadcasting regulator OFCOM today (10/25).
The move expands sponsorship announcements, already permitted for programs, to whole stations, with some restrictions such as for children-oriented channels. Still prohibited, however, will be naming a station after the sponsor.
