Mark Mason Returning To KEX/Portland

PORTLAND talk radio veteran and PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS public address announcer MARK MASON has posted at his website that he is returning to iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk KEX-A/PORTLAND for noon-3p (ET), beginning JANUARY 23rd.  MASON has most recently been hosting at crosstown PAMPLIN News-Talk KPAM-A after leaving KEX three years ago, when he was co-host of "THE MARK AND DAVE SHOW" with the late DAVE ANDERSON.

In an emotional post, MASON said that ANDERSON's passing and his own health issues involving a blood clot in his leg left him with a changed perspective on life, saying that "It has been such a tumultuous ride that when I found myself able to breathe again, I felt an overwhelming need to take control of my life…again. And my decision to go back to KEX was part of it."  He likened his return to KEX to "coming home."

MASON's addition to the KEX lineup comes weeks after MICHAEL CASTNER's exit from the station.  CASTNER left KEX on NOVEMBER 23rd and has launched a podcast.
