SOUNDEXCHANGE released its Top 20 charts for the most-streamed artists, tracks and breakout artists of 2016, with ADELE's "Hello" earning #1 as the year's most streamed track for the 12-month period ending SEPTEMBER 30th, followed by JUSTIN BIEBER's "Sorry" and SHAWN MENDES' "Stitches."
THE WEEKND scored three songs in the Top 20, including "The Hills" (#4), "Earned It" (#17), and "Can't Feel My Face" (#20).. And though he topped the chart as Most Streamed Artist Of The Year, DRAKE had just a single song – "Hotline Bling" (#10) – on the list. He was followed by RIHANNA, ADELE, FUTURE and TOM PETTY.
SOUNDEXCHANGE President/CEO MICHAEL HUPPE said, "We want to congratulate all the recording artists on our charts. If 2016 was the year of streaming, then all of these artists can be very proud of what they achieved over the past 12 months."
