Last month (NET NEWS 11/16) DICK BROADCASTING announced that it would cease encoding for PPM and was selling its VOLTAIR boxes for Top 40 WKZL and Classic Rocker WKRR.
However, ALL ACCESS heard from other broadcasters in the market that both stations were still encoding ... so ALL ACCESS asked GM DICK HARLOW about this..
HARLOW responded, "I can only imagine how you might be getting questions from people in the industry that may have noticed that DBC RADIO INC in GREENSBORO is still encoding the signals of WKRR and WKZL.
"Several weeks ago we announced our intention to stop encoding and you published that fact for all the world to see. And evidently, if our phone and email are any indication, folks really did read this in ALL ACCESS and questioned this decision.
"This decision has monopolized a lot of our time and after consultation with partners that we rely very heavily on we have decided that this move to stop encoding WKRR and WKZL is a decision that we will revisit in early 2017."
