ONE DIRECTION may be gone, but they're certainly not forgotten.
In FORBES' year-end list of the top-earning EUROPEAN celebrities, the platinum-selling U.K. boy group was #1 on the list with $110 million in earnings, mostly from the end of their $200 million-plus On The Road Again tour and endorsement deals with PEPSI and COLGATE. That was enough to make 1D, who took the year off,the top-earning band in the world and second-highest to only TAYLOR SWIFT at $170 million.
Among musicians, ADELE was third (and the only woman on the tally) with $80.5 million, while THE ROLLING STONES were fifth ($66.5m), followed by CALVIN HARRIS ($63 million) and PAUL McCARTNEY ($56.5 million). U2 placed ninth on the list with $55 million.
Others who made the list include soccer star CRISTIANO RONALDO from PORTUGAL (#2, $88 million), SWISS tennis pro ROGER FEDERER (#4, $68 million), SERBIAN tennis champ NOVAK DJOKOVIC (#8, $56 million) and U.K. celebrity chef GORDON RAMSAY (#10, $54 million).
