Minor League Baseball's VISALIA RAWHIDE has named VINNIE LONGO as Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations and AUDREA AVALOS as Community Relations Manager. LONGO, an ITHACA COLLEGE graduate, most recently served as broadcaster and Assistant GM for the independent SAN RAFAEL PACIFICS, while AVALOS, a UNIVERSITY OF LAVERNE Radio Broadcasting major, has been working as a Broadcast Assistant for the NBA's LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS. LONGO replaces DANNY ANGEL, who served as Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the past season. The RAWHIDE are the Class A-Advanced CALIFORNIA LEAGUE affiliate of the ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS.
"I am so happy to be home and very grateful for the opportunity here in VISALIA," said AVALOS. "I'm excited to continue my career in sports as a part of the RAWHIDE family."
"I'm incredibly excited to be taking on this role with the RAWHIDE and to be joining the VISALIA community," said LONGO. "The RAWHIDE are a first-rate organization in Minor League Baseball, and I'm looking forward to becoming a part of it.
"I'm proud to say that the RAWHIDE staff continues to get stronger & stronger each year," said GM JENNIFER PENDERGRAFT. "We continue to strive to be better each year, and fresh blood helps us all stay creative, and at the top of our game. Both VINNIE and AUDREA are joining our experienced staff with a vast knowledge of their own, and I'm looking forward to hearing their ideas and getting them involved in our great community!"
