Last week SAN DIEGO CHARGERS fans descended on CHARGERS PARK to dump their CHARGERS gear in protest. LOCAL MEDIA SAN DIEGO Alternative XTRA-F (91X)/SAN DIEGO is offering a new 91X shirt to anyone discarding their SAN DIEGO CHARGER gear. 91X will be donating the items to a homeless shelter in LOS ANGELES, the team’s new home, 91X has also pledged to match the number of CHARGER items donated up north with an equal donation of new 91X shirts to a shelter in SAN DIEGO.
“Once the move was announced, we brainstormed together and came up with this plan: we’ll take all of the discarded CHARGERS gear and instead of letting it go to waste, offer it to those in need of clothing in LOS ANGELES,” said 91X MD/middayer HILARY CHAMBERS. “Knowing there’s need in SAN DIEGO too, we’re donating brand new 91X shirts to an organization that serves SAN DIEGO’s homeless population as well.”
SAN DIEGO CHARGERS items are being collected at the 91X studios through TODAY (1/16). 91X plans to deliver the donated CHARGER items to the LOS ANGELES MISSION on THURSDAY, JANUARY 19th. The new 91X shirts will be donated to homeless students through VISTA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT’s Student Support Services program.
