With TOBY KEITH, 3 DOORS DOWN and JACKIE EVANCHO the biggest pop names announced for this THURSDAY and FRIDAY's TRUMP INAUGURATION, the game of musical chairs continues, with JENNIFER HUDSON among those bowing out at the last moment.
Now, it appears the "Soul Man" himself, SAM MOORE, has signed on, at least for the "'Make AMERICA Great Again!' Welcome Celebration" on THURSDAY, JANUARY 19th, to welcome in the newest POTUS and his family to the WHITE HOUSE.
Said MOORE in a statement: "As an AMERICAN, I am honored to perform for President-elect DONALD TRUMP. I was a participant in the civil rights movement and have seen many positive changes and advancement in my 81 years of living in this wonderful country, but I know we must all join hands and work together with our new President. I honestly believe that if we can accomplish this, the best is yet to come. We all as AMERICANS need to unite behind our new President and give him a chance. He needs everyone’s support to make AMERICA greater, stronger and an even better country.”
Meanwhile, NEW JERSEY's own THE B STREET BAND, a BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN tribute group, has abruptly pulled out of the NEW JERSEY INAUGURAL BALL, fearing backlash from the BOSS, with whom they have excellent relations.
Here's the letter they sent out to their fans about the decision:
"To our most loyal fans and to BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN and the E STREET BAND community
With deepest apologies to our fans and the NEW JERSEY INAUGURAL BALL committee, the B STREET BAND is withdrawing from performing at this year’s inauguration gala.
Our decision is based SOLELY on the respect and gratitude we have for BRUCE and the E STREET BAND.
BRUCE’s music has been the foundation of our livelihood. The B STREET BAND would not exist without the talents of BRUCE and our E STREET brothers.
We are most grateful to these rock legends and look forward to many more years of emulating and performing the Forever Music Of BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN."
