ABRAMORAMA has partnered with SWORD ROWE CAPITAL to establish a filmed content and P&A fund to target the acquisition and/or funding of music driven films as well as other genres building on its experience in targeting niche markets. The initial fund will enable ABRAMORAMA to become involved in projects at an earlier stage, to help create, as well as market and distribute.
With the flexible funding in place, ABRAMORAMA will partner with content owners, music-focused digital entities, bands, management companies, and record labels, to mine the visual content they have assembled over the years. ABRAMORAMA will continue actively seeking appropriate acquisitions along with other distribution arrangements.
Coming off their recent success with RON HOWARD's "THE BEATLES: Eight Days A Week -- The Touring Years," ABRAMORAMA's list of rock documentaries includes CAMERON CROWE’s "PEARL JAM Twenty," SACHA GERVASI's "ANVIL! The Story Of ANVIL," GREEN DAY'S "Heart Like A Hand Grenade," LAURIE ANDERSON's "Heart Of A Dog," DAVE STEWART's "STEVIE NICKS: In Your Dreams," "The Zen Of BENNETT" and BERNARD SHAKEY's "Greendale," the latter the beginning of 15 years as consultant to NEIL YOUNG's SHAKEY PICTURES.
SWORD ROWE Managing Dir./CEO DANIEL B. ROWE stated, “Over the past few years, we have been increasingly impressed by the extensive and nuanced expertise that ABRAMORAMA has demonstrated in the music-driven independent film genre.”
ABRAMORAMA Pres./CEO RICHARD ABRAMOWITZ added: “This is the natural evolution for us as we continue to develop our mandate to release “tribal” films, films with definable, addressable audiences. SWORD ROWE’s relationships in the music world will be invaluable in providing early access to quality projects and extending our reach to other strategic distribution platforms."
This news comes on the heels of ABRAMORAMA's expansion with the recent announcement of NEW YORK-based KAROL MARTESKO-FENSTER and L.A.-based EVAN SAXON joining the executive team as EVP/COO and WEST COAST Head of Acquisitions & Business Development, respectively.
