The NHL's WASHINGTON CAPITALS are back on FM under a deal with iHEARTMEDIA Active Rock W284CQ-WWDC-HD2/WASHINGTON, which will carry the team's games for the rest of the season. Previously, the games were airing on HUBBARD News WFED-A (FEDERAL NEWS RADIO)/WASHINGTON and online on CAPS RADIO 24/7, with games bumped from WFED due to conflicts airing only online; the games will also continue to be heard on WFED and CAPS RADIO 24/7. Before this season, the CAPS aired on crosstown CBS RADIO Sports WJFK (106.7 THE FAN).
"It's a great opportunity for us to not only expand our coverage area in MARYLAND, D.C. and VIRGINIA, but also to partner with one of our region's most respected media companies," said CAPITALS Senior Director of Broadcasting JOHN WALTON. "I'm happy for our fans that our game day coverage will be on the FM dial in WASHINGTON on 104.7 FM."
"We're very excited to have the CAPITALS on our airwaves," said iHEARTRADIO WASHINGTON Region and Government Issues President MICHAEL PREACHER. "Our listeners are going to be thrilled to hear hockey's hottest team on iHEARTRADIO's 104.7 FM."
