THE PLAYERS' TRIBUNE, the website co-founded by DEREK JETER for athletes to post their stories directly to their fans, is launching a podcast network in conjunction with DGital MEDIA.
The network will roll out shows throughout the year, starting on THURSDAY (1/26) with an oral history podcast about the NEW YORK GIANTS' 1986 SUPER BOWL season, "GIANT STEPS," a 60-minute episode narrated by MICHAEL STRAHAN with first-person accounts from CARL BANKS, HARRY CARSON, PEPPER JOHNSON, LEONARD MARSHALL, GEORGE MARTIN, ELVIS PATTERSON, LAWRENCE TAYLOR, and BILL PARCELLS, part of "THE PLAYERS TRIBUNE, AN ORAL HISTORY SERIES."
“THE PLAYERS’ TRIBUNE has become a destination for thoughtful, insightful storytelling related to topics both on and off the field,” said THE PLAYERS’ TRIBUNE President JAYMEE MESSLER. “We’re excited to introduce another medium for athletes to share stories and discuss important issues through a unique and intimate listening experience. DGital MEDIA is a terrific partner on the launch of this newest extension of our premium content offerings.”
“As the leading platform highlighting the voice of the athlete, DGital MEDIA is extremely proud and honored to partner with the team at THE PLAYERS’ TRIBUNE,” added DGitalMEDIA Chief Content Officer CHRIS CORCORAN. “No other medium showcases the actual voice of the athlete better than audio and we’re thrilled to be creating compelling and impactful programming together with TPT, for fans and clients alike.”
