AWAL, a KOBALT company, launched its YEAR IN REVIEW, a microsite that showcases song trends and insights for its members across the major streaming platforms last year. The site breaks down the most popular AWAL tracks of 2016, general music industry trends, and offers fact-based playlist insights for its members. The site also allows anyone with a SPOTIFY account to create a personalized playlist of AWAL music based on their SPOTIFY activity.
The microsite analyzes individual song data from AWAL’s 20,000 artist members, combined with general industry streaming data, to show listening patterns in 2016 as well as predict what will be hot in 2017. The breakout artists highlighted from last year include FRENSHIP, VÉRITÉ, CALUM SCOTT, NEIKED, and more.
The microsite breaks down into the following sections:

At AWAL and KOBALT, we are investing heavily in the systems and tools to change that – where every independent artist will have access to both their data and meaningful insights that will help guide their career.
“AWAL’s ‘YEAR IN REVIEW’ is the first taste of what’s to come this year as we roll out new tools that help artists better understand the market and their business. It also shows just how much incredible music and artists we have been involved with over the last 12 months, and points to an amazing year of new music ahead.”
