Consultant JASON BARRETT's annual sports radio awards announcements have started with today's reveal of BARRETT SPORTS MEDIA's "Top 20 Local Sports Radio Morning Shows of 2016."

For major markets (top 20), CBS RADIO Sports WFAN-A-F/NEW YORK's "BOOMER AND CARTON" -- BOOMER ESIASON and CRAIG CARTON -- are the honorees, followed by CBS RADIO Sports WBZ-F (98.5 THE SPORTS HUB)/BOSTON's FRED TOUCHER and RICH SHERTENLIEB, CUMULUS Sports KTCK-A-F (THE TICKET)/DALLAS' "THE MUSERS" (GEORGE DUNHAM, CRAIG MILLER, and GORDON KEITH), ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-F/BOSTON's KIRK MINIHANE and GERRY CALLAHAN, and CBS RADIO Sports WIP/PHILADELPHIA's ANGELO CATALDI.

For mid-markets, HUBBARD Sports WXOS (101 ESPN)/ST. LOUIS' BERNIE MIKLASZ took top honors, followed by CBS RADIO Sports KDKA-F (93.7 THE FAN)/PITTSBURGH's morning show with COLIN DUNLAP, JOSH MILLER, and JIM COLONY, CUMULUS Sports WGFX (1045 THE ZONE)/NASHVILLE's "THE WAKE UP ZONE" with MARK HOWARD, FRANK WYCHECK, and KEVIN INGRAM, CBS RADIO Sports WKRK-F (92.3 THE FAN)/CLEVELAND's KEN CARMAN and ANTHONY LIMA, and CUMULUS Sports WWLS-F (THE SPORTS ANIMAL)/OKLAHOMA CITY's "MORNING ANIMALS" (CURTIS FITZPATRICK, CAREY MURDOCK, PHIL INZINGA, and RON "SPINOZI" BENTON).

On BOOMER AND CARTON, BARRETT said, "The success BOOMER AND CARTON have enjoyed in the nation's top media market speaks for itself.
