More sad news, as word comes from ART VUOLO that JACK VINCENT, the oldest living DJ of the famous KCBQ/SAN DIEGO, died at the age of 99! One of the last public places that JACK was seen was in 2010 when they dedicated a special monument on the very site that the KCBQ studios once stood, out in suburban SANTEE, CA. Interestingly, JACK's birthday was NOVEMBER 7th and KCBQ's AM frequency was 1170 on the dial.
"Because JACK possessed a first-class FCC license he did his program from a studio at the transmitter even before the studios were located out in SANTEE. KCBQ was a six Tower 50,000 watt AM station. JACK had been in hospice care for the last several months, and we all rejoice in the fact that he is no longer in pain... but the way he could hoist a drink and puff on a cigar he was a tough old guy loved by everyone."
