Stage Two of consultant JASON BARRETT's poll for the top sports talk shows in the country is for the "The Top 20 Local Sports Radio Midday Shows of 2016," and the winners are, for major markets, ESPN Sports KSPN-A (ESPN LA 710AM)/LOS ANGELES midday team STEVE MASON and JOHN IRELAND and, for mid-markets, EMMIS Sports WFNI-A-W228CX (FM 93.5 AND 1070 THE FAN)/INDIANAPOLIS middayer DAN DAKICH.

Runners-up in the major market category were CBS RADIO Sports WBZ-F (98.5 THE SPORTS HUB)/BOSTON's SCOTT ZOLAK and MARC BERTRAND, ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-F/BOSTON's GLENN ORDWY, LOU MERLONI, and CHRISTIAN FAURIA, CBS RADIO Sports WFAN-A-F/NEW YORK's JOE BENIGNO and EVAN ROBERTS, and CBS RADIO Sports KRLD-F (105.3 THE FAN)/DALLAS' "G-BAG NATION" with GAVIN DAWSON.

Runners-up in the mid-market group included CBS RADIO Sports KDKA-F (93.7 THE FAN)/PITTSBURGH's "COOK AND PONI" (RON COOK and ANDREW FILLIPONI), CUMULUS Sports WGFX (104.5 THE ZONE)/NASHVILLE's "MIDDAY 180" (JONATHAN HUTTON, CHAD WITHROW, PAUL KUHARSKY), HUBBARD Sports WXOS (101 ESPN)/ST. LOUIS' KEVIN WHEELER, and CBS RADIO Sports WKRK-F (92.3 THE FAN)/CLEVELAND's ANDY BASKIN and JEFF PHELPS.
