NIELSEN has closed on its acquisition of GRACENOTE from TRIBUNE MEDIA for $560 million. GRACENOTE (NIELSEN plans to refer to it as "GRACENOTE, A NIELSEN COMPANY") will operate as a unit within NIELSEN's Watch segment and will remain based in EMERYVILLE, CA.
“Bringing GRACENOTE under the NIELSEN umbrella creates an industry-leading media discovery, metadata and measurement business strongly positioned as the market shifts to greater personalization,” said NIELSEN Pres./Expanded Verticals KARTHIK RAO. “This acquisition combines NIELSEN’s audience measurement and analytics with GRACENOTE’s data and technology, providing clients with deeper resources to capture consumer engagement across the evolving content ecosystem.”
