MILWAUKEE RADIO ALLIANCE Alternative WLUM (FM 102.1)/MILWAUKEE will host the FM 102.1 NEW YEAR NEW BEER TAP PARTY with MONDO COZMO, LP, and VINYL THEATRE on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18th at the BAVARIAN BIERHAUS in GLENDALE, WI. Doors open at 7p (CT) for this 21+ event.
At the beginning of the year, FM 102.1 set out to create a new MILWAUKEE beer by and for its listeners and partnered with BAVARIAN BIERHAUS, a restaurant and brewery specializing in craft beer and GERMAN comfort cuisine, to brew the new, listener-curated beer.
Since early January, FM 102.1 listeners have been voting at the station’s website to determine the specifications for the new FM 102.1 beer. Pilsner beat out stout, IPA, and brown ale for “type of beer.” The next round of voting was on the “flavor” of the pilsner, and red pilsner defeated Imperial pilsner, black pilsner, and AMERICAN dry hop pilsner. The last step was to name the beer and FM 102.1 invited listeners to submit their suggestions through its website. The names were submitted, and after weeks of voting, the winning entry is “TEN TWENTY-ONE,” which was submitted by KELLIE FLATT of WEST ALLIS, WI. FLATT will be the “Honorary Brewmaster” for the evening because her name was chosen, and all of her drinks will be free at the tap party.
The TEN TWENTY-ONE beer will be tapped and unveiled to the public at this weekend’s event. Admission to the FM 102.1 NEW YEAR NEW BEER TAP PARTY is free. The first 150 people will receive a commemorative FM 102.1 pint glass to be filled with the newly crafted beer.
