COMMUNITY BROADCASTERS Alternative WZLB (103.1 THE BLAZE)/FORT WALTON BEACH, FL, teamed up with ROBINSON'S CRUSE THRU on VALENTINE's DAY YESTERDAY afternoon to "give back to the community" by giving away free taco meals and cupcakes to the first 20 customers who agreed to renew their wedding vows, according to a report in nwfdailynews.com.
WZLB OM/PD MATT STONE said: "We came up with this idea after having an on-air wedding. Three of us got ordained, and we figured we might as well use it. So here we are marrying people in a drive-thru."
Rhonda Burgandy and Ray Tatum, a married couple from Miramar Beach, said they are faithful listeners of the station and wanted to remarry and support the local community.
Said loyal listener RHONDA BURGANDY, who renewed her vow with RAY TATUM: "We got married on VALENTINE'S DAY last year. We love to be a part of everything the radio station puts on, from charity events to things like this. It really brings the community out and reminds us that we all love each other."
