UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS has released financial results for the fourth quarter and year ended DECEMBER 31, 2016.
Total revenue for the fourth quarter increased 15.0% to $846.5 million compared to $735.9 million for the same period in 2015. After excluding for comparability political/advocacy advertising and content licensing revenue in both periods, revenue increased 8.5% to $768.9 million from $708.6 million.
Net income attributable to UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS INC. for the fourth quarter ended DECEMBER 31, 2016 was $108.0 million compared to $8.8 million for the same period in 2015. Adjusted OIBDA for the fourth quarter ended DECEMBER 31, 2016 increased 16.4% to $390.1 million, compared to $335.2 million for the same period in 2015. After excluding for comparability
political/advocacy advertising and content licensing revenue in both periods, Adjusted OIBDA increased 3.1% to $323.0 million from $313.4 million.Total revenue for the full year ended DECEMBER 31, 2016, increased 6.4% to $3,042.0 million compared to $2,858.4 million for the same period in 2015. Net income attributable to UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS INC. for the full year ended DECEMBER 31, 2016 was $218.9 million compared to net loss attributable to UNIVISION of $44.6 million for the same period in 2015. Net income attributable to UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS INC. for the full year ended DECEMBER 31, 2016 included a pretax non-cash impairment charge of $204.5 million primarily related to the write-down of Radio broadcast licenses, compared to a pretax non-cash impairment charge.
