Bubba The Love Sponge Moves To File Amended Counterclaim Against Nielsen

As expected, BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE has once again filed a motion for leave to file a counterclaim against NIELSEN AUDIO in their dispute over alleged ratings tampering. 

The new version of the counterclaim drops syndicated host BUBBA's third-party complaint against COX MEDIA GROUP and rival TAMPA personality MIKE CALTA but attempts to restore BUBBA's claims, based on the over 71,000 pages of documents served up by NIELSEN in discovery, that NIELSEN and COX worked together to eliminate BUBBA as a competitor in the TAMPA market, with alleged manipulations involving a "sting operation" and penalties harsher than NIELSEN had imposed for violations by others in the past.

Judge JAMES D. WHITTEMORE rejected BUBBA's previous counterclaim for having too much material in the allegations redacted, but did so without prejudice, leaving the door open for a restated counterclaim filing.

A NIELSEN spokesperson told ALL ACCESS, "These latest claims are entirely without merit and Nielsen intends to vigorously defend against them."
