GREATER MEDIA says its five BOSTON radio stations are now officially broadcasting in HD digital radio and has launched companion independent multicasting channels for each station. Classic Hits WROR's multicast channel is "Nothin' But The '70s"; AAA WBOS's is "The Over Easy Cafe," playing a mix of heritage and current AAA artists; AC WMJX's is "Majic 106.7 HD-2," playing a mix of KENNY G, DIANA KRALL, LUTHER VANDROSS, ELLA FITZGERALD, and more; Country WKLB's is "WKLB's Classic Country HD-2"; and Talk WTKK's is "96.9 Classical."
"We're very excited to provide five brand new locally programmed and originated radio stations to BOSTON," said GREATER MEDIA/BOSTON Market Manager PHIL REDO. "HD Radio technology will make it possible for us to create innovative programming that breaks all the traditional radio rules."
Added GREATER MEDIA Pres./CEO PETER SMYTH, "HD and multicast channels are the future of the radio industry. We are very happy to be able to showcase this exciting new technology in the BOSTON market."
