Longtime WGY-A/ALBANY, NY News Dir. CHUCK CUSTER has added PD duties at the CLEAR CHANNEL News/Talk station. He will also continue on-air on the "DON WEEKS & THE WGY MORNING NEWS" program. He replaces GREG FOSTER, who recently became PD of CC Talker KNRS-A/SALT LAKE CITY (NET NEWS 10/2).
Concurrently, CC/ALBANY OM JOHN COOPER adds oversight of the operations of Sports WOFX/ALBANY, which FOSTER had overseen, and the company's TOTAL TRAFFIC NETWORK.
"Chuck's knowledge of the market and passion for WGY make him a perfect fit for the position," CC/ALBANY VP/GM KRISTEN DELANY said. "We were thrilled to have someone of his caliber in-house and ready to take on this new challenge."
CUSTER joined the station in MAY 1984 and has been serving as News Dir. since 1992. He said, "It's an honor and a huge responsibility. We have a great tradition, the best talent and a loyal, massive audience. I want to build on this tremendous foundation and take us boldly into the future, both on the air and on the Internet."
