AMERICAN WOMEN IN RADIO & TELEVISION today introduced a new annual industry award, The One Shared World International Outreach Award, which the organization says "will recognize an individual or organization in the electronic media or allied field (e.g., film, advertising, public relations) that has bridged borders and broken barriers to help Americans learn more, connect more or do more to support efforts to tackle global poverty."
The award will be bestowed by the FOUNDATION OF AWRT, whose mission is to utilize the media to create positive change. "The One Shared World International Outreach Award underscores the crucial role that we, as electronic media professionals and organizations, play in illuminating global humanitarian issues," said AWRT Pres. CHICKIE BUCCO.
