Justice Dept. OKs Entercom-CBS Deal

The JUSTICE DEPARTMENT has given the conditional OK to ENTERCOM's deal to buy CBS RADIO clusters in AUSTIN, CINCINNATI, MEMPHIS, and ROCHESTER, provided that ENTERCOM divests itself of three stations in ROCHESTER (WRMM, WZNE, and WFKL). The approval, which allays antitrust concerns, will allow the $262 million deal, announced in AUGUST, to proceed, pending FCC approval and closing.

Changes Underway At WAQZ 

ALL ACCESS has learned changes have already happened at Alternative WAQZ (97.3 EVERYTHING ALTERNATIVE)/CINCINNATI. According to JOHN KIESWETTER's column in the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, Promotion Director JAMIE BOYLE, MD/specialty show host "MISS SALLY" VOLLNER, morning show producer MICHAEL SULLIVAN, middayer RAZOR, and PM driver JIMMY THE WEASEL have been let go at WAQZ.
