Grandmaster Flash To Receive BET's First Icon Award

Recording artist and SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO host GRANDMASTER FLASH is the recipient of BET's first "I Am Hip-Hop" Icon Award in recognition of his contributions to hip-hop. He will receive the award on NOVEMBER 12 during the taping of BET's inaugural "Hip-Hop Awards," taking place at ATLANTA's Fox Theatre. The awards are scheduled to be broadcast on BET on NOVEMBER 15.

"It's wonderful that BET recognizes the DJ and its important role to hip-hop and music as a whole," he said.
