Digital independent music distributor and marketer THE ORCHARD and digital licensing management firm SNOCAP have signed an agreement under which ORCHARD labels will be able to use their bands' MYSPACE pages as "digital storefronts," with SNOCAP providing a secure commerce environment through its digital registry and THE ORCHARD providing royalty administration, accounting, and payment services.
"This new and revolutionary offering adds to the already comprehensive menu of services we provide to our labels and artists by allowing them to manage their own digital retail storefront within their MYSPACE page," said THE ORCHARD chief executive GREG SCHOLL. "SNOCAP's e-commerce solution on MYSPACE represents a powerful new sales and promotion platform -- one that further transforms how artists and their fans interact."
SNOCAP chief executive RUSTY RUEFF said, "SNOCAP's digital registry allows artists and labels to sell their music online while retaining full control over its distribution. By adding THE ORCHARD's extensive catalog of independent music to our registry, our two companies are dramatically expanding the digital music marketplace for independent artists and fans alike."
