Warner Bros. Records Names Monti Olson SVP A&R

MONTI OLSON has been appointed SVP A&R for WARNER BROS. RECORDS, by WARNER BROS. RECORDS President DAN McCARROLL, to whom he'll report, based at the company’s headquarters in BURBANK, CA.

OLSON was most recently GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT EVP and GLOBAL MUSIC PUBLISHING Managing Director, after serving as EVP/Head Of A&R for UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP.  OLSON has worked closely with a wide variety of artists and songwriters including MAROON 5, CHRISTINA AGUILERA, ELLIE GOULDING, ALL AMERICAN REJECTS, CORINNE BAILEY RAE, ALL TIME LOW, DAMIEN MARLEY, MIKE EINZIGER (INCUBUS), MARTIN KIERSZENBAUM (LADY GAGA), CHRIS "TRICKY' STEWART, ESTER DEAN and THE SMEEZINGTONS' ARI LEVINE. With over 20 years of experience as an A&R executive, OLSON’s work has earned over 50 pop publisher awards and 31 #1 singles.

OLSON’s publishing signing highlights include multiple GRAMMY awards, platinum and gold certifications, and many music publisher performance awards. Before joining UMPG in 2007, OLSON was SVP/Head of Artist & Repertoire at BMG MUSIC PUBLISHING for five years. He also worked at PEER MUSIC, WINDSWEPT MUSIC PUBLISHERS and MCA RECORDS. He is a voting member of THE RECORDING ACADEMY and founded vinyl reissues record company ORIGINAL RECORDINGS GROUP, as well.
