THE E.W. SCRIPPS COMPANY has nominated COO ADAM SYMSON, SCRIPPS family member MIKE SCAGLIOTTI, and TiVO COO PETER B. THOMPSON to its board.
SYMSON is slated to replace the retiring RICH BOEHNE as President/CEO later this year; BOEHNE will remain as Chairman of the Board. SCAGLIOTTI would take the seat being vacated in MAY by MARY MCCABE PEIRCE, another SCRIPPS family member, who is retiring. THOMPSON is a former executive at SONOS, ERICSSON, and MICROSOFT. All three will stand for election at the MAY 2nd shareholder annual meeting. The seats are being voted upon by SCRIPPS family members as holders of the company's common voting shares; the SCRIPPS family, with the addition of the two new seats, will elect eight of the company's 11 directors.
