Indie 1031.com Pulls Its Stream

Gone, But Not Forgotten

Online Alternative station INDIE 1031.COM/LOS ANGELES pulled its stream over the APRIL 1st weekend. The website now only reads: "Thank you to all the loyal listeners and DJs who supported INDIE1031.COM on this adventure that is now coming to a close. Keep striving to find and give the best to the world. You deserve it."

INDIE 103.1 was launched on ENTRAVISION-owned KDLD/SANTA MONICA on DECEMBER 25th, 2003 under PD MICHAEL STEELE It attracted national notoriety (ROLLING STONE once called it AMERICA's coolest commercial station" despite a limited signal that perpetually hindered its ratings potential.

On THURSDAY, JANUARY 15th, 2009 in the morning, ENTRAVISION pulled the terrestrial plug on INDIE 103.1 but continued to broadcast it online. During its tenure, INDIE 103.1 was the home to such specialty shows as BARELY LEGAL RADIO, PASSPORT APPROVED, ALTER NATIVE, CHAOS THE METAL SHOW, ALL UP IN THE INTERWEB, THE LOPSIDED WORLD OF L, BREAKFAST WITH THE SMITHS, COUP D' ÉTAT and GO DEEP WITH BRUCE RAVE.
