Gunter Schroder Named VP Of The Kurland Agency's International Division

Veteran booking agent GUNTER SCHRODER has been named VP of the International Division at THE KURLAND AGENCY. He will oversee the agency's booking operations in all territories outside NORTH AMERICA. He was most recently TKA's booking agent for EUROPE, the MIDDLE EAST and parts of AFRICA.

Hailing from a musical family in SOUTH AFRICA, SCHRODER first came to the U.S. to attend the BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC, where he graduated in 2000 with a dual major in Music Business/Management and Songwriting. After graduation, he spent a few years performing in various groups along the EAST COAST. He started at TKA as a receptionist in 2002, rose to Executive Assistant to TED KURLAND in 2004, and in 2006 became a full-time booking agent, handling the same territories that he does today.

Added SCHRODER of his 15 years at the company, "I am honored to be named VP of the International Division and very thankful to TED for believing in me all these years. We have a good team that I am very proud to be a part of. TKA is dominant in jazz. But, we are rapidly expanding the roster into other genres, including AMERICANA, blues, roots, LATIN, and soul/R&B. In addition to our marquee acts, we have, over the past couple of years, also signed some great young talent. Despite being a boutique agency, we are booking shows in such diverse markets as ICELAND, AZERBAIJAN, COLOMBIA and, of course,  CHINA. TKA has a very strong global presence that I look forward to continuing to develop."
